I think the elevators in my hotel were installed by the Sirius Cybernetics Co.
They seem to randomly skip floors!

Most materials handle compression and decompression in repeated cycles only up to a certain point. Finally molecular bonds give, and “Kerrrack.”
Why should a person be any different?
I never knew how long this little project would last. Now, I really have no clue. You see, this store won’t be part of our district any longer in oh, about three days.

Due on shelves in Q2 ‘08. The Readius is another step in an awesome direction. Another application of Electronic Ink, but more importantly, it also features a flexible display. Sure, sure it is in black and white, but remember that cellphones computer monitors and digital watches were all monochrome in their infancy. The iPhone’s interface made me smile. The Kindel makes me warm, portable wi-fi access makes my heart race, the promise of color flexible displays with intuitive multi-touch interfaces makes my toes curl. ;D
I love technology. I love the promise of great engineering and new materials, new concepts, new solutions to old limitations. This is the ultimate in productive creativity.
If I had a head for mathematics… nah, I still would have been an artist.:P
A few months after the debut of the iPhone more and more manufactures are offering touch screen interfaces on cell phones, with screens covering 80% of the device. Many manufacturers are now offering wi-fi connectivity. Sony now has a strong competitor in the eInk market. Competition breeds innovation. Innovation is good for consumers.
WooHoo!

Hollywood has lost another beloved son.
Heath Ledger dead at 28. At this point, drug overdose seems probable. I won’t link to an article as you will doubtless find several on the net.
I don’t pretend to know anything about his private life, but it seems like Hollywood and celebrity just chew up young talented people and spit them out. It seemed like young Mr. Ledger was on the upward climb to exceptional career. More and more celebrities are going batshit or losing themselves to drugs. I know celebrites have always been a bit insane, perhaps that has always been their charm. Still, it gives me to wonder if the community of celebrities could possibly react to the loss of her sons and daughters.

Alright, so I suck at this whole 365 thing… sometimes I just don’t want to write about what’s on my mind. If you knew, you’d thank me.
Home.
Chillin’ with the fam. including miss Sara. A long luxurious night in my bed. Caught up on a few episodes of “House.” It wasn’t until my Brother in Law mentioned the writer’s strike and the tv shows on hold, that I realized that the shows I follow haven’t aired a new episode in a while. Eh, c’est la vie.
Bought a new jacket a week ago, didn’t get to see it until last night. I’m really, really happy with the purchase.
I’ve ordered the EL panels for the “cabinet” (”Hope,” for future reference.) The price was three quarters of the total my research turned up a few years ago. So far the vendor has also been much more informative and more helpful than the last time I looked around, also more helpful than the other vendors I queried this time. I particularly appreciate the fact that he listened to my original request, as evidenced the invoice submitted for payment. Included in the quoted price of the lamps, was an inverter ideally suited to my application, which I had previously indicated I would need. Now all I need is time…

i took off from the store an hour and a half early, never mind the fact that my flight is not till tomorrow morning. I just got too anxious. Nothing really to do, and at the tail end of 9 days I’ve had enough.
Really looking forward to getting home. My family, my stuff, my bed.
Teaching is looking really good right now. Hell, I’d even consider teaching high school.

I’ve come to the conclusion that the City of El Paso is subsidized…
I think drivers here are paid a sum for each visitor’s car they can hit.

No tablet this year from apple.
Not honestly surprised. My wallet is relieved.
Some neat stuff, nothing too earth shattering. The MacBook air is nifty, but every year someone else claims the title of thinnest laptop. It’s pretty, but I’m not looking to trade in my BlackBook any time soon. I am thrilled to see multi-touch built in though. I think this is an excellent step towards the iPad (iTablet?) It is technologically impressive how small they got the motherboard though. Neat stuff. But nothing to get my geek on. ;p

I am beginning to suspect that Skippy* is slowly transferring me to El Paso without asking and without telling me…
I am beginning to worry that one day I will return to my apartment and find it empty save a note to this effect.
“Your personal effects have been shipped to El Paso at your request. Respectfully, DSW”
All of this, of course, without promotion or a raise.
Nah, couldn’t happen… could it?
